Our mechanized forms of conveyance need regular attention, so let's combine our love for them with our love of alliteration and celebrate Maintenance Monday next, well, next Monday.

Oddly reminiscent of a vet working on a cow.

Man, I have maintenance Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and more often than not Saturday and Sunday. It's what I do.
Found this talking about our facility...

Interesting article. I found a gem of a picture in the Flickr feed linked from the article. Since it is all rights reserved here is the link to the pic , but I'm not embedding the pic. I see you work in the situation room / cube farm, have a BMW fetish and access to the main wall monitors. Also somebody appears to be watching a cheesy romantic comedy.

That is the operations control center over at our general offices. Like mission control, but much bigger. Dispatch, weather, routing, maintenance control and other functions monitor the airline 24/7/365. Cool place. They monitor the news and weather generally on the screens. Call over there on a Sunday and you can hear football in the background. There is also a bunch of simulators in that building.

There are some pics of the simulators in the stream too. There are actually a lot of cool pics, but then when you work there you don't really need to check it out in pictures.

I've been here 15 years and never been in the simulators. We do have some very cool toys though. I still appreciate how cool it is and one of the things I enjoy is when we have a school group or something come by and taking them around for a tour. People seem to think planes take care of themselves or that we outsource all the work. Couldn't be farther from the truth.
